I honestly don’t know why we’re subject to big final exams at the end of the year. Teachers are teaching us facts and stats on subjects we don’t even find interesting, but for the sake of points we have to do them. We have to get high points in each subject in order to get into university or college, from there get a good paying job that will sustain us. The teachers aren’t teaching us the things we really need to know how to survive life. Real life lessons like how to pay bills, and how to deal with our emotions. How is knowing a formula in maths going to make us a better generation than the one that went before us? People say we should be the difference we wish to see in the world, but how can we be that change when our creativity is being suffocated by education? By examining us on one day that we perform a test, we’re being judged on how we will be seen to employers and high-ups for the rest of our lives. The education system is fucked up.
